Question by E: Can you bring a cross-stitch or needlepoint needle onto an airplane these days?

The needle isn't really sharp, and its about 1.5 inches long.

Also, can you bring blunt-ended scissors or fingernail clippers (to cut the thread).

FYI: I'll be on Southwest Airlines
According to the TSA, you CAN bring these items on the plane. Wonder why everyone except one person is saying no. I'll wait a little longer for more answers before picking a best.
